Cast iron is an iron-carbon alloy with carbon content greater than bai2.11%. It is obtained from industrial pig iron, scrap steel du and other steel and alloy materials through melting and casting at high temperature. In addition to Fe, the carbon in dao and other cast iron is precipitated in graphite form. If the precipitated graphite is in strip shape, the cast iron is called gray cast iron or gray cast iron, the cast iron is in vermicular shape is called vermicular graphite cast iron, and the cast iron is in flocculent shape is called malleable cast iron or code iron The spheroidal cast iron is called nodular cast iron.

Ductile iron castings have been applied in almost all major industrial sectors, which require high strength, plasticity, toughness, wear resistance, severe thermal and mechanical impact resistance, high or low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability. In order to meet these changes in service conditions, ductile iron has many grades, providing a wide range of mechanical and physical properties. As specified in ISO 1083, most ductile iron castings are mainly produced in non-alloy state. Obviously, this range includes high-strength grades with tensile strength greater than 800 N/mm2 and elongation of 2%. The other extreme is the high plastic grade, which has an elongation of more than 17%, while the corresponding strength is relatively low (the minimum is 370 N/mm2). Strength and elongation are not the basis for designers to select materials, while other decisive and important properties also include yield strength, elastic modulus, wear resistance and fatigue strength, hardness and impact performance. In addition, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and electromagnetic performance may be key for designers. In order to meet these special applications, a group of austenitic ductile iron, commonly called Ni-Reis ductile iron, has been developed. These austenitic ductile irons are mainly alloyed with nickel, chromium and manganese, and are listed in international standards. It is pearlitic nodular cast iron with medium-high strength, medium-toughness and plasticity, high comprehensive performance, good wear resistance and shock absorption, and good casting process performance. It can change its performance through various heat treatments. It is mainly used for crankshaft, camshaft, connecting shaft, connecting rod, gear, clutch plate, hydraulic cylinder and other parts of various power machinery.
